weeks before performing any chemical work on your hair.
|
| A: If the previous hair straightening
procedure used ammonium thioglycolate, applying YUKO will not
cause a problem. However, the YUKO process may not work fully if the hair is badly damaged. For hair
treated with Brazilian or Keratin Straightening, you may wait few weeks before getting the YUKO done.
If sodium hydroxide relaxer was used, we do not recommend getting your hair straightened with YUKO
except on new growth only. Please call to schedule your free consultation for more information.
|
| A: Basically, the hair that is
treated with YUKO will remain straight until it gets cut off. However, new
hair will grow according to its natural texture. We recommend that you get YUKO touch-ups every 4 to 6
months, but the interval will vary depending on your natural hair texture and how quickly your hair grows.

| A: No. We do not use Formaldehyde or any
ingredient similar to or derived from Formaldehyde on any of our products.
|
| A: Formaldehyde is listed as Group 1
carcinogen by IARC, which is in the same category as Asbestos and
other cancer-causing substances. The CIR Expert Panel assessed that cosmetic products should not exceed
0.2% concentration of Formaldehyde. Getting chemical treatments that contain Formaldehyde in excess of
this set standard can cause airway irritation, allergic-type reactions, and, in worse cases, can possibly lead
to leukemia, according to studies done by the National Cancer Institute and American Cancer Society.
|
| A: YUKO Japanese hair straightening is a
permanent hair straightening system. Our solution chemically
changes the structure of the hair. By applying heat with a flat iron, it forms the shape of straight hair
resulting shiny straight hair. On the other hand, Brazilian treatments are a temporary method to control
the frizz of the hair by coating the hair from outside. The more you wash your hair, more the coating will
wash off. It will typically last 2-3 months and the hair becomes curly or wavy again (or back to its original
texture). Many but not all contain formaldehyde or similar ingredient derived from formaldehyde.
